Zolmitriptan Tablets

Zolmitriptan is used for the treatment of migraine headaches. It will only treat migraine headaches that have already started and not reduce the number of migraine attacks.

Who cannot take Zolmitriptan?

• Have liver disease or other liver problems.
• Have high blood pressure.
• Are trying to get pregnant or are pregnant.
• Have had a stroke or mini stroke.
• Have had a previous allergic reaction to Zolmitriptan.
• Have circulation problems in your legs.
• Have seizures or fits.
• Breastfeeding
• Are a heavy smoker or use nicotine replacement therapy?
• Have heart problems such as coronary heart disease, chest pain (angina), heart rhythm problems (arrhythmias) or have had a heart attack. 

Zolmitriptan works by narrowing the blood vessels in the brain. By doing so it prevents pain signals from being sent and blocking the release of substances that cause throbbing pain, nausea, and other migraine symptoms.

Zolmitriptan is taken when the migraine starts and usually takes 30 to 60 minutes to work. A second dose can be taken 2 hours after the first if your migraine improves and then comes back. Please follow your doctors or pharmacist’s advice before taking this medication.
