Beconase Nasal Spray

Beconase nasal spray contains the medication Beclometasone. It is used to treat cold like symptoms caused by allergic rhinitis.

Who cannot take Beconase?

• Have an infection in your nose.
• Are taking or have recently taken other steroid medication.
• If you have had a previous allergic reaction to Beconase
• Have had nose surgery.
• Are pregnant or trying to get pregnant.

Beconase contains a steroid which works by reducing swelling and irritation in the nose. The symptoms of hay fever in your nose include itchiness, a runny nose and congestion. The spray helps by preventing sneezing and making you feel less congested.

For the spray to have its desired effect it needs to be used regularly and the usual dose is one or two sprays in each nostril twice a day. Before using the spray ensure you prime the bottle first by spraying it into the air a couple of times first then follow the instructions 1. Blow your nose. 2. Close 1 nostril by pressing your finger against the side of your nose. 3. Tilt your head forward slightly and put the nozzle into the other nostril. 4. Slowly breathe in through your nose and press down on the nozzle to squirt one spray into the nostril. 5. Breath out through your mouth 6. Follow steps 3 and 4 again for the other nostril if needed.
